Hero MotoCorp surprised everyone as it unveiled the new Xtreme 200 S at the 2016 Auto Expo. What makes the new motorcycle special is the fact that it is the most powerful naked Hero motorcycle yet. Given that performance bikes especially between 150-200cc has seen a huge rise in demand, the Xtreme 200 S is Hero’s attempt in tapping into this market. Hero Xtreme 200S had made its public debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. This naked bike was put on display alongside the Hero Duet-E, Hero XF3R, and new Splendor iSmart 110. The company has said it time and again that it has aggressive plans for the premium motorcycle segment, and the arrival of the Hero Xtreme 200S is part of that.
It will be the first 200cc naked sports bike from the homegrown two-wheeler maker. This motorcycle is basically the more powerful version of the existing Xtreme with the new design. The bike features a ‘Cheetah’-inspired design that will appeal young enthusiasts. Upon its launch, it will be pitted against motorcycles like Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 and the Yamaha FZ25. Powering this motorcycle is an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 200cc engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox. This powertrain produces 18.6PS of power and 17.2Nm of torqueWhat we can see in the pictures are similar equipment as before. However, everything has been tweaked. Concept bike has a sport bike inspired rear swingarm and subframe but, normal, production version will have something more practical and usual stuff that we have seen before. Fatter front forks, tyres, bigger disc brakes and much more can be easily expected on this motorcycle.
Launch in the year is set and final for the year 2017 and prices will begin for this model around the Rs. 85,000 mark.
